Here are 3 simple steps to switch Telco to One NZ Prepay.
Switching mobile provider is a simple process that you can start by getting a SIM.
Step 1. Buy SIM card.
Insert your One NZ SIM

If you don't have a One NZ SIM card or eSIM,
you can purchase one here.

Step 2. Set up.
Choose your Prepay plan

Follow the simple steps to get set up on your phone.


Step 3. Port your phone number.
Bring your number

Fill in the relevant details to transfer your phone number
to One NZ, and get 5GB of free data for up to 90 days*.

Bring your number to One NZ (from any other NZ mobile network) when you join a Prepay Plus plan and receive a bonus 5 GB of data. 5 GB bonus data lasts for up to 90 days from activation.​

Data bonus can take up to 72 hours to be activated. 5 GB bonus cannot be carried over. See Prepay Porting terms.​

Important things to know

  • It will take around 4 business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 am – 5 pm) to bring your number across from your previous provider.
  • You’ll still be able to use your existing number and SIM until you are ported over.
  • Make sure you have your One NZ SIM card ready to go before starting the online porting process.
  • Within 10 minutes of submitting your mobile number porting order, you’ll receive a confirmation TXT from 2542 to your current SIM card. This extra layer of security will ask you to confirm your porting request by responding with “Yes” or “Y” within 2 hours of receiving the TXT.
  • If you do not respond within 2 hours of receiving the TXT message, the order will be canceled.
