How to Top Up

Use the One NZ website

Fast top up on the One NZ website


Top up now using your credit card, debit card or a recharge voucher - it's quick, easy, and secure. You can top up your prepay account or someone else's.

  1. Enter the mobile number to top up.
  2. Choose a top up method: credit or debit card or recharge voucher.
  3. Select the amount to top up.
  4. Enter mobile number for a TXT confirmation.
  5. Select Continue and confirm to proceed.
  6. If paying by credit or debit card:
    1. enter your payment details and select Submit.
    2. You may receive a one-time password by TXT from your bank. Enter this to confirm the payment, or approve it in your banking app.
  7. If using a recharge voucher:
    1. enter the voucher code and submit
  8. Once completed, your top up will be processed and a confirmation TXT will be sent.

Top up in My One NZ website


  1. Sign in to My One NZ.
  2. Select Top up & pay bill, then Top up.
  3. Choose the prepay number you want to top up.
  4. Choose a top up method: credit or debit card, or recharge voucher.
  5. Select the amount to top up.
  6. If paying by credit or debit card:
    1. select a saved card or enter new card details.
    2. select Top up to continue.
    3. You may receive a one-time password by TXT from your bank. Enter this to confirm the payment, or approve it in your banking app.
  7. If using a recharge voucher:
    1. enter the voucher code and select Top up.
  8. Once completed, a confirmation TXT is sent to the mobile number.

To register a new card:

  • Select the Save Card Details checkbox. This will securely store your card information for future top-ups
  • Click on Top up. This will proceed to the next screen where you can enter your credit card details
  • Enter your credit card details. Once you've entered all the required information, your card will be registered for future top-ups.

Use the My One NZ app

  1. Sign in to the My One NZ app.
  2. Select the Top up tile where your current balance is shown.Select a top up amount and choose credit or debit card.
  3. Choose the top up amount and select your payment method (credit or debit card).
  4. Enter your card details or select a saved card.
  5. Select Complete payment.
  6. You may receive a one-time password by TXT from your bank. Enter this to confirm the payment, or approve it in your banking app.
  7. Once completed, your top up will be processed and confirmed.

Set up Auto Renew for Prepay Plus​

Auto Renew pays for your plan renewal using a saved debit or credit card. The cost of your plan will be charged to a saved (registered) debit or credit card, so you’ll enjoy less Prepay pauses. ​

You may still need to do extra Top Ups for things like calls/TXTs to special numbers, Daily Deals, Add-Ons, etc. Consider also Auto Top Up as a different option. If you're on a Pay & Go plan then Auto Top Up is best for you.

  1. Sign in to My One NZ
  2. Click “Plans & Add-Ons” in the top menu​
  3. The Plan Overview for your mobile number will appear with Auto Renew turned OFF​
  4. Click Auto Renew “Set up now”​
  5. If you already have saved cards (registered cards), confirm the card you want to use for Auto Renew. ​
  6. If you don’t yet have a saved card, follow the prompts to Add and Save a new card.​
  7. Confirm acceptance of the terms and conditions for Auto Renew. ​
  8. If successful, your Plan Overview will show Auto Renew is ON. You will also receive a confirmation SMS.

    App

    NOTE: You’ll need to update your My One NZ App to version 7.8.2 (or higher) to see Auto Renew. Check App Store or Play Store for updates.

    1. Sign in to the My One NZ app
    2. Click the “Data” tile on the dashboard OR “Plans & Add-Ons” in the side menu​
    3. The Plan Overview for your mobile number will appear with Auto Renew turned OFF​
    4. Click Auto Renew “Set up now”​
    5. If you already have saved cards (registered cards), confirm the card you want to use for Auto Renew. ​
    6. If you don’t yet have a saved card, follow the prompts to Add and Save a new card.​
    7. Confirm acceptance of the terms and conditions for Auto Renew. ​
    8. If successful, your Plan Overview will show Auto Renew is ON. You will also receive a confirmation SMS.

    You can set up Auto Renew any time before 5pm the day before your Prepay Plus plan is due to renew. You can also change plans, update your card, or cancel Auto Renew before that time.​

    Set up an Auto Top Up

    You can automatically top up your One NZ prepay account by setting up an Auto Top Up. There are two options to choose from, auto top up or TXT me first. When your balance reaches $5 or less, we'll automatically top you up with your chosen amount from your credit card or debit card or we can TXT you first.

    Simply reply yes to the TXT and we’ll top you up from your credit or debit card.

    1. Sign in to My One NZ
    2. Click Top up & pay bill
    3. Click Auto top up then and then select Set up Auto top up
    4. Enter the mobile number you would like to automatically top up
    5. Choose between Auto or TXT me first options
    6. Select the amount you would like to automatically top up
    7. Enter the credit card details
    8. Review and confirm acceptance of the terms & conditions
    9. Click Add this auto top up

    App


    1. Sign in to the My One NZ app then select your Prepay service from Accounts & services
    2. Choose Top up & pay bill
    3. Choose Auto top up then and then select Set up Auto top up
    4. Choose the mobile number you would like to top up
    5. Choose Auto or TXT me first
    6. Select the amount you would like to automatically top up
    7. Enter your card details
    8. Review and confirm acceptance of the terms & conditions
    9. Click Add this auto top up.

    You can edit or delete your auto top up in the My One NZ app at any time.

    Top up with a recharge voucher

    You can buy a One NZ recharge voucher at one of our stores, at any participating NZ service station, dairy, or supermarket.
    Just look for the 'One NZ' sign at these places. You can easily top up your One NZ Prepay or someone else's using recharge vouchers on the app, website, phone or by sending us a TXT.
    Here's how to do it:

    Use a Voucher on our website.


    You don’t need to sign in, you can fast top-up on our website.
    It's quick, easy, and secure.

    1. Enter the mobile number to top up.
    2. Select recharge voucher as the top up method.
    3. Enter your 12 digit recharge voucher number.
    4. Enter the text you see for verification and select continue to proceed.
    5. Confirm the details and select submit.

    Use a Voucher in the App


    Top up via the My One NZ app with a recharge voucher

    1. Log into the My One NZ app.
    2. Choose the Top up tile where your current balance is displayed.
    3. Select recharge voucher from the payment methods recharge voucher.
    4. Enter the voucher number.
    5. Tap Complete payment.
    6. You'll receive a confirmation that your top up was successful.

    By texting 887


    TXT self service is quick, easy and free to send. To activate your recharge voucher, TXT the 12 digit voucher number to 887.

    1. Open your TXT messaging app on your mobile phone
    2. Create a new TXT message
    3. Enter 887 in the "To" phone number field
    4. In the message field, enter your 12-digit recharge voucher number
    5. Send the text message
    6. You will receive a confirmation text message indicating your top up has been successful if a valid voucher number is entered

    By calling 777


    1. Dial 777 and press 2 to top up when prompted
    2. Then select 2 again to top up with a recharge voucher
    3. Press 1 to top up the number you are calling from or press 2 to top up another number
    4. Enter the 12 digit voucher number when prompted. The voucher activation will be confirmed if a valid number is entered.

    Top up by TXT with a registered credit or debit card

    1. Make sure you have registered a Credit Card (or debit card) in your My One NZ profile.
    2. Send a TXT message to 867 in the following format:
      • TMU [dollar amount]
      • For example, to top up your account with $20, you would send the following TXT message: TMU 20
    3. You will receive a TXT message seeking confirmation of your top up amount.
    4. If you wish to proceed, reply with the last 4 digits of your credit card.
    5. If you wish to cancel your top up, reply No.

    Note: Top up by TXT only applies to the mobile number that you send the TXT from.

    By phone with a registered credit or debit card

    1. Dial 777 and press 2 to top up when prompted.
    2. Select 1 to top up with a debit or credit card.
    3. Enter the amount you want to top up (minimum $10).
      • To top up $10 enter 10
    4. Select 1 to confirm the amount or press * to enter a different amount.
    5. Select 1 to top up using a saved card and enter the last 4 digits of the saved card when prompted.
    6. You will receive a message confirming your successful top up.

    Top Up with selected banks

    If you bank with BNZ:

    Top up your One NZ prepay number using the BNZ app.
    Simply sign into the app, select the Top up Prepay option, and follow the prompts

    At participating retailers

    You can top up at a One NZ store or at participating NZ service stations, dairies or supermarkets. Just look for the 'One NZ' sign at these outlets.

    Find your nearest One NZ store.

    Selected stores around New Zealand have One NZ EFTPOS terminals where you can top up with cash, credit card or EFTPOS. They'll usually have eklick EFTPOS signage to help make them easy to find. We'll TXT you to confirm your top up and let you know your new balance after the top up.

    NZ Post shop
    A $3.50 fee applies to top up your Prepay at a NZ Post shop. Find your nearest Post Shop with cash or EFTPOS.
