Retired - Prepay Freebees
These plans are supported but no longer for sale - you can't sign up, re-sign or transfer to or between them. However, you can continue to use your mobile, make changes to your account and buy Add-Ons that are available with Freebees as normal.
If you're on one of our old Prepay plans and we retire this plan, or we think one of the Prepaid plans that we're currently selling would be better for you, then we may move you to a new plan of similar or better value. We'll let you know about your new plan, and will post any changes to your plan on our website.

When your Freebee bonus has been used you will use your prepay credit at the standard rates.

Important things to know
Your bonus expires after 30 days or if you top up earlier. If you use up all of your free bonus, standard Prepay Freebees rates will apply. Minutes and TXTs exclude special, premium and international numbers.
- Prepay $19 lasts 30 days and auto renews if you have credit. Any minutes and data in your Prepay Carry Over $19 plan that you haven't used in 30 days will carry over for up to 360 days, if you keep your Prepay Carry Over $19/$29 plan active. Prepay terms apply.
- With Prepay Freebees, every time you top up you get a Freebee bonus. The nature and amount of the Freebee bonus you get is determined by the Freebee plan you select and the amount you top up by.
- You cannot purchase offers or Add-Ons from other Prepay plans e.g. BestMate or Smart19Data etc.
- You need to opt in to the Prepay Freebee plan of your choice first e.g. Freebee Talk or Freebee Data, then top up with at least $20 in one go. You'll only get your Freebee bonus if you opt in before you top up.
- Bonus minutes and TXTs are to standard New Zealand landline and mobile numbers only and exclude special, premium and international numbers.
- You can only have one Freebee bonus at a time, so when you top up any new bonus will replace the remainder of your existing bonus. If you don't top up within 30 days your current bonus will expire. Bonuses are non-transferable between plans.
- Unlimited TXTs are intended to be used for personal TXTs to standard NZ numbers. As long as you use your fingers to do the TXTing, unlimited TXTs are for you! However, unlimited TXTs are not for you if you plan to use them in any of the following ways. Unlimited TXTs are not for re-selling or using for commercial gain, auto-dialling, machine to machine communications (including by using your SIM card in any other device) or any other activity that might not be viewed as ordinary personal usage. If in our reasonable opinion we consider your usage breaches these terms, falls outside the intended use, or is fraudulent or unlawful, we may immediately suspend or restrict your use of the services without notice to you. For overseas TXTing and non standard TXTs like premium TXTs and fundraising shortcodes, standard rates apply.
- If you use up all your bonus, standard rates apply. See full casual pricing details under the 'Casual Rates' tab on this page.
- To check your Freebee bonus balance, sign in to My Vodafone or freeTXT Freebee to 756.
- If you switch plans you will lose any bonus or Add-Ons you may have.
- A $5 plan change fee will apply for customers choosing to move to Prepay Freebees from Prepay Smart or Prepay Mobile Broadband. No plan transfer fee will apply to move to Prepay Freebees from any other Prepay plan
- For charging purposes, Prepay Freebees calls are rounded up to the next minute. For example, if your call is 1 minute and 40 seconds, your Prepay Freebee plan will reduce by two minutes.
- Any of the following services will be charged at the usual rates, and deducted from your Prepay balance:
- PXT
- International numbers
- Special or premium numbers (e.g. 0900)
- Voice services (e.g. 018, voicemail)
- Data calls and usage
- Video calling
- Roaming services
