AirPods firmware.
Apple has released a firmware update for AirPods 4 (version 7B20) and AirPods Pro (version 7B21). Version 7B19 and later for AirPods Pro 2 has enabled hearing aid and other hearing features.
You can check which version you have using iOS, by looking at the Bluetooth information in Settings.
Enabling VoLTE.
VoLTE is available on the One NZ network, across New Zealand, including the RBI2 cell towers. VoLTE works on iPhone 6 and all newer models of iPhone. You'll want VoLTE simply for the sound quality on phone calls, and there are more benefits with VoLTE. You can learn more about VoLTE.
You can switch on VoLTE in your Settings. Look under Settings > Mobile > Mobile Data Options > Enable 4G Voice and Data.
Software updates.
We recommend that you stay up to date with the latest version of iOS for your model of iPhone.
The current version iOS is iOS 18.1.1 which is now available to download, and it is compatible with these models of iPhone:

iPhone and 5G.
The latest iPhone 16 models, all iPhone 15 models, all iPhone 14 models, all iPhone 13 models, all iPhone 12 models and the latest iPhone SE (Gen 3) are all 5G capable. You'll find 5G in many locations across New Zealand, including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, Whanganui, Queenstown, and more, as we continue to extend our network and capabilities.
Live Voicemail.
If you've updated to iOS 17 or later on your iPhone, the default settings for Voice mail may have switched to use Apple's Live Voicemail. Learn about Live Voicemail, including how to change the settings.
You can switch Live Voicemail off if you prefer not to use it, and change to using the One NZ Voicemail service.
