Fibre Max

About our Fibre Max plan.

The One NZ Fibre Max plan is our fastest Fibre broadband plan.
With our Fibre Max plan, you can max out on speed and entertainment as you stream in 4K, listen to your favourite music and download large files or games. And you can do all of this even while the kids are watching HD video, or gaming on their PS5® Slim.

Even better than that, you can feel comfortable about using data, because all of our Fibre Max plans come with Unlimited data, and Fibre Max is available everywhere that we sell Fibre broadband.

About Fibre Max speed.

Fibre Max is incredibly fast. Our Fibre Max plan is our fastest Fibre connection available, making it the best choice for gaming and watching your preferred streaming service.
You'll probably know that ISPs refer to Fibre Max as “Gig” or “Gigabit” Fibre. Remember that “Gigabit” describes the network capability; not the real world speed of the technology. When they say Gigabit, they mean up to 1Gbps, or 1,000Mbps.
To give you a better understanding, our national peak time average speed for Fibre Max is 918 Mbps for download and 497 Mbps for upload - and that's very fast.

Maximum speeds in use will vary and your speed can be affected by a range of factors. That includes how your device is connected to the internet (using a Gigabit Ethernet cable is far better than using WiFi), the hardware and software used, the number of devices connected, the time of day, and where the data is downloaded from.

For details on the latest average peak time speeds for Fibre Max please see our internet plans page.

For an independent view of providers and speeds, see the NZ Commerce Commission September 2023 report, that measures One NZ as having the fastest Fibre Max speeds in New Zealand.

See also the June 2025 Commerce Commission Broadband report, showing the Fibre Max on the One NZ network with faster download average speeds compared to both Spark and 2degrees, and faster upload speeds than 2degrees.
One NZ also has the lowest disconnection rate, beating all other NZ providers according to the Commerce Commission report.
