Retired - Prepay 4G
You can continue to use your mobile, make changes to your account, and buy or change Add-Ons as normal
If you’re on one of our old Prepay plans and we retire this plan, or we think one of the current Prepay plans we're selling would be better for you, then we may move you to a new plan of similar or better value.
We’ll let you know about your new plan, and will post any changes to your plan on our website.

If you’re currently on Prepay 4G, you may get moved to Prepay Carry Over $19 so you can get the benefits of our latest plans. Your Prepay 4G renews on a calendar month, while the new Prepay Carry Over $19 renews every 30 days.
So to make up for those 5 extra days, we won’t move you onto Prepay Carry Over $19 until your current bundle is at least 5 days old. We’ll then give you a brand new Prepay Carry Over $19 plan so you’ll have your full entitlements to use for the next 30 days.
What’s more, any data or minutes you have left in your Plan will now carry over if you keep your plan active. On your new Plan, you’ll also get free weekend calling to Vodafone NZ mobiles and minutes and TXTs to standard numbers in Oz as well as NZ. We’ll let you know when you’ve been moved over so you know when you can start using these great new benefits.

Important things to know
- While the Prepay 4G $19 or $29 Add-On is active you are enabled for 4G on your Plan.
- In order to use 4G (or Faster 4G) you need to have a capable device, and be within the coverage area. Visit www.vodafone.co.nz/4G/ for details on devices and coverage.
- There is no casual data on the Prepay 4G Add-On. To keep using Data once your Add On has been used up (but is not due to renew yet) you will need to purchase a Data Boost or wait for your Add-on to renew on its renewal date. You can purchase a Data Boost by free calling 321 from your mobile or by going to My Vodafone (either via the website, or the My Vodafone App).
- You can only have one combined minutes, txt and data Add-On at a time (although you can have additional Data boosts on your account, or a BestMate Add-On). Add-Ons last 1 calendar month and renew until cancelled.
- Providing you have sufficient credit any Add-On will continue to renew monthly with the same bundle of minutes, TXTs and data each month, on your renewal date.
- If your Add-On is unable to renew, it will go on hold until you top up or cancel the Add-On.
- If you top up while the Add-On is on hold, it will be automatically renewed and the price will be deducted from your Prepay balance, provided you top up enough to cover any outstanding IOUs and the full cost of the Add-On. Your Add-On will reactivate from the date of your top up.
- Standard rates will apply if your Add-On is on hold or removed from your account, or you are making calls or TXTs outside your allocation. If you cancel your Prepay 4G Add-On you will no longer be enabled for 4G. You can cancel your Add-On through My Vodafone or via TXT.
- Unlimited TXTs are intended to be used for personal TXTs to standard NZ numbers. As long as you use your fingers to do the TXTing, unlimited TXTs are for you! However, unlimited TXTs are not for you if you plan to use them in any of the following ways. Unlimited TXTs are not for re-selling or using for commercial gain, auto-dialing, machine to machine communications (including by using your SIM card in any other device) or any other activity that might not be viewed as ordinary personal usage. If in our reasonable opinion we consider your usage breaches these terms, falls outside the intended use, or is fraudulent or unlawful, we may immediately suspend or restrict your use of the services without notice to you. For overseas TXTing and non standard TXTs like premium TXTs and fundraising short codes, standard rates apply.
- To check your Add-On balance free TXT "MY ADDONS" to 756 or sign in to My Vodafone
- Calls are rounded up to the next minute. For example, if your call is 1 minute and 40 seconds, your allowance will reduced by two minutes, or you will be charged two minutes if it is a chargeable call.
- Calls made using any of the following services will be charged at the usual rates, and deducted from your Prepay balance: International numbers; Special or premium numbers (e.g. 0900);Voice services (e.g. 018, voicemail);Data calls and usage; Video calling; Roaming services.
- If you switch plans you will lose any bonus or Add-Ons you may have.
- A $5 plan change fee will apply for customers choosing to move to Prepay Smart from Prepay Freebees or Prepay Mobile Broadband. No plan transfer fee will apply to move to Prepay Smart from any other Prepay plan.
