Low Power Wide Area Network

Business Products & solutions IoT - Internet of Things

What is LPWAN?

Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) describes a category of wireless communication technologies designed to support Internet of Things (IoT) deployments. One NZ is rolling out NB-IoT and LTE-M to support your IoT solutions.

What are LPWAN technologies designed to deliver?

Mobile tower signal
Extended coverage over large areas even when underground or deep within buildings

Great power efficiency so devices can run on batteries for up to 10 years
OCS00338_cost_85x85.svg
Low cost communications hardware enabling data collection devices to be cheaper
Get broadband at home
Low bandwidth with most connections requiring just a few bytes of data to be transmitted per device per day

IoT coverage map details

Coverage depends on where you are and what device you are using. For example, to get access to the NB-IoT network, you need to be in a NB-IoT coverage area and have a NB-IoT capable device.
Please note: The above map is indicative only and intended to provide general guidance on where our network coverage is available. Coverage may vary depending on the type of device used.
