SmartWiFi is our super smart modem. Your internet’s only as fast as your modem - so SmartWiFi’s powered by a super-fast and super-smart Deco modem. Just plug it in and get internetting. Then download the Deco app to unlock all sorts of smart features.

How do I get SmartWiFi?

SmartWiFi’s available to new and existing customers who’ve signed up to an eligible Fibre or Wireless plan.

New to One NZ Broadband?

Simply join us on an eligible Fibre or Wireless broadband plan and add-on SmartWiFi – your plan will activate when you start up your SmartWiFi modem. Easy as that.

Call us on 0800 777 044 You’ll need these details:
  • Your broadband account number (found on your bill)
  • Your 4-digit security PIN
  • Make sure your broadband service is added to your My One NZ account. (How to add your broadband service ).

How does SmartWiFi work then?

Your internet speed depends entirely on your modem (it’s got a pretty high-pressure job). Luckily, SmartWiFi is powered by a Deco modem, which is super-fast and super-easy to set up and use.

Just plug in your SmartWiFi modem. Connect by either using the username and password on the bottom of the modem - or scan the QR code to start internetting.

Use the Deco app to control access to the network, check speeds, and prioritise devices (e.g. a work computer vs. a gaming-console) from anywhere.

Use Parental Control to block content, set time limits and bedtimes, and pause internet access.

What is SmartWiFi?

SmartWiFi a TP-Link Deco modem. SmartWiFi allows you to easily set up with plug & play functionality and then easily control your WiFi through the deco app.

What is plug & play functionality?

Simply plug the modem in and turn it on. You can then connect your devices using the WiFi name and password on the bottom of the modem or scan the QR code (also on bottom of the modem).

How does SmartWiFi and SuperWiFi work?

SmartWiFi is your modem that unlocks Smart control features - like changing WiFi name and password, prioritising devices and parental controls. SuperWiFi is your Whole-home WiFi solution. SuperWiFi connects seamlessly with your SmartWiFi modem using the latest WiFi-6 mesh technology. Your SmartWiFi modem and SuperWifi units work together to form a single, unified network in your home.

Fibre or Wireless? What’s the difference? Eh?

Fibre is a fast and reliable choice if you have access to it (check your availability) . But Wireless is great if you can’t get Fibre or live close to a cell tower.

How do I set-up SmartWiFi controls?

Once your SmartWiFi on Unlimited Fibre or Unlimited Wireless Broadband plan is up and running, simply download the TP-Link Deco app and follow the in-app prompts to set this up.

Can I get SmartWiFi and SuperWiFi on my current broadband plan?

SmartWiFi is only available on our eligble Fibre and Wireless in market plans, which launched 24 September 2024. SuperWiFi is only available as an add-on to these SmartWiFi on Unlimited Fibre or Unlimited Wireless Broadband plans.

What’s the range of SmartWiFi?

If you have an average-sized home, SmartWiFi should do a great job. For homes with two or more storeys, we recommend super-powering it by adding on SuperWiFi.

What if my homes not WiFi friendly?

Walls, concrete, metal and other household appliances can cause weak spots and drop-outs. SuperWiFi overcomes these issues using an additional mesh node to expand WiFi coverage to every corner of your home.
