  3. Pay the rest over time

    Your Phone Dollars discount is spread evenly across a 24 or 36 month interest-free term. Any remaining balance is also paid over the same term.

Spending and redeeming

What can I spend my Phone Dollars on?

Any new phone $199+ on a 24 or 36 month interest-free term, with an eligible One NZ Pay Monthly plan. You’ll need a minimum $99 deposit, which you could pay with the trade-in value of your old phone, and there’s a minimum $1 payment required over your term. Phone Dollars can’t be exchanged for cash.

How do I redeem my Phone Dollars?

Head into any One NZ store and chat to our team. Bring a valid driver's license or passport so we can confirm you're the authorised person on the account. You'll also need to complete a credit check to ensure an interest-free term is suitable for you.

Can I use my Phone Dollars balance online?

Not right now. You can use your Phone Dollars in any One NZ store. Find a store near you.

What plans can I use my Phone Dollars on?

You can use your Phone Dollars balance with any of our in-market Pay Monthly plans.

Can I buy a phone that's already on sale?

No, you can’t combine Phone Dollars with any other offer.

Can I use Phone Dollars on a $1/month phone deal?

No. Phone Dollars cannot be combined with promotional pricing offers.

How can I cover the deposit?

You can either pay the minimum $99 deposit in cash or use the trade-in value of your old phone.

Your One Wallet

Do I have a One Wallet?

If you’re 18+ and have a NZ mobile number, then yes – there’s a One Wallet and a stack of Phone Dollars waiting for you.

How do I check my One Wallet?

Simple! Just enter your mobile number at the What’s In My Wallet website or, if you’re a One NZ mobile customer, you can access One Wallet in the My One NZ app.

What happened to my One Wallet Dollars?

Nothing, they’ve just got a new name. One Wallet Dollars are now called Phone Dollars.

Is One Wallet the same as One NZ Rewards?

No. One NZ Rewards is different than One Wallet. It has rewards like discounted movie vouchers, event presales, and One NZ Warriors deals. These are available to One NZ customers at the One NZ Rewards website.

What's the value of a Phone Dollar?

Each Phone Dollar is equivalent to $1 (NZD). So your Phone Dollars balance is the amount you’ll save on your next new interest-free phone.

How can I grow my Phone Dollars balance?

Save the offers loaded into your One Wallet. Each offer will show you how many Phone Dollars you can earn.

How do I get more offers?

Keep an eye on your app or look out for a TXT or email from One NZ, with new offers. Our TXT short code is 7414.

What happens to my Phone Dollars if I cancel my plan?

Phone Dollars already earned stay until expiry. Ongoing offer eligibility (e.g. Bill Bonus) may be removed if you leave an eligible plan.

Do Phone Dollars expire?

Yes. Most are valid for four years but some expire sooner. All Phone Dollars end at 11.59pm on their date of expiry, which you can see in the offer card or your balance history in the What’s In My Wallet website or the My One NZ app.

Special cases and exceptions

Can I gift or transfer my Phone Dollars to a family member or someone else?

Yes. You can gift or transfer a portion (excludes trade-in estimate and device offer) of your Phone Dollars to someone on the same bill. Transferred balance must be redeemed within 30 days, otherwise it expires.

My phone number is managed by my employer, can I still use One Wallet?

You can still use One Wallet and earn Phone Dollars through our partners, such as dosh. Phone Dollars can only be redeemed if you are the account holder, in this instance if you want to redeem Phone Dollars earned via any of our partners, then you can gift these Phone Dollars to a nominated mobile number or set up a new personal mobile account.

How does One NZ use my information when I sign up for Dosh?

When you sign up for dosh, a One Wallet will be created. Dosh will share your mobile number, account status, and information about your dosh activities that qualify for Phone Dollars. This is used to create and manage your One NZ Wallet, view your balance and allocate Phone Dollars based on your activity.

Terms and conditions

One Wallet terms

The Phone Dollars in your One Wallet can be redeemed in-store with an eligible One NZ Pay Monthly plan. You Phone dollar balance can be used towards a new phone purchase with a minimum value of $199, on a 24 or 36 month interest-free term. Minimum $99 deposit required and minimum $1 monthly interest free repayment over term. Balance savings evenly spread over the agreed interest-free term. Balance of phone cost must be repaid if you exit, transfer or trade-down your plan before the interest-free term expires. Redeeming is available to the account holder of the service and is subject to a credit check. Eligibility criteria and terms apply.

*Trade-in terms

Terms and conditions for trading in a smartphone with One NZ.
  1. You must be 18 years of age or older to trade-in a mobile phone.
  2. The mobile phone must belong to you, and you have the right to trade it in to us, with no debts owing, including existing interest free balance remaining or any other party having an interest in it. We will not accept mobile phones for trade-in which we determine to be lost, blocked, stolen or fake, and can reclaim any trade-in value where this arises.
  3. All phones will be checked against a lost or stolen database using the devices IMEI number.
  4. We reserve the right to inform the relevant authorities if there is any suspicion that there is a deliberate attempt to commit fraud.
  5. You can trade-in any mobile phone, from any New Zealand network, as long as it's on our database and of an acceptable condition (at our discretion). If your used mobile phone is not listed, it cannot be traded in. However, we do have recycling boxes in store if you wish to recycle your phone, accessories or chargers instead.
  6. Your mobile phone cannot be returned to you once it has been processed for a trade-in.
  7. You must perform a factory reset and that ensure that you clear all personal information, Google or Apple accounts and content from the mobile phone and any SIM in the phone. Any SIM card, data and/or personal information contained on the mobile phone cannot be returned. You are responsible for removing all information and content from the mobile phone you trade-in.
  8. We accept no responsibility in relation to the security, protection, confidentiality or use of any personal information which is stored on the mobile phone and/or SIM card that you have traded in.
  9. The personal information that you have provided on the receipt will be disclosed to our contractors in order to process the trade-in transaction.
  10. Our Privacy Policy applies to all trade-in transactions.
  11. You can only trade-in one phone against a new phone on an interest free payment term.
  12. You must complete the trade-in of your existing mobile phone through one of our retail stores before buying your new phone. We will complete a visual inspection of your phone to verify the condition and this will determine the value. Subject to confirmation of the condition of the phone by the visual inspection, we will honour the estimate until the date indicated on the quote provided.
  13. We reserve the right to amend its estimated trade-in value if the condition of the phone does not reflect the answers you provided in the online trade-in questionnaire (at our discretion).
  14. Your trade-in phone must have a minimum trade-in value of $99.
  15. We will not trade-in any mobile phone that cannot be powered on.
  16. The new device must be purchased Interest Free from us on an eligible Pay Monthly Plan. Our standard Interest Free eligibility criteria and terms apply.
  17. The value of your trade-in phone will be applied as an upfront deposit towards the new device and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Any additional Interest Free offers will be applied over the term of your Interest Free Payment term.
  18. A minimum remaining Interest Free Payment amount of $100 or higher is to be payable on the new phone over the Interest Free Payment term if no Interest Free discount or One Wallet discount is applied.
  19. Trade-in is not able to be used for new phones purchased via pre-order.
  20. Vouchers cannot be used towards an Interest Free Payment purchase.
  21. Eligibility for a trade-in transaction is at all times at our sole discretion.

**Bill Bonus terms

  1. Offer available if you are a One NZ mobile customer and have received the Bill Bonus offer tile in your One Wallet.
  2. Phone Dollars will be automatically added to your Phone Dollars balance each month on your billing date based on the number of eligible plans you have on your billing account, until the offer expires or is withdrawn.
  3. Each month, we will calculate the number of eligible plans on your billing account, and you will receive:
    • One eligible plan: 2% of the value of that plan, excluding any discounts associated with that plan, as Phone Dollars for that month’s Bill Bonus;
    • Two eligible plans: 4% of the value of those plans, excluding any discounts associated with those plans, as Phone Dollars as for that month’s Bill Bonus;
    • Three or more eligible plans: 6% of the value of those eligible plans, excluding any discounts associated with those plans, as Phone Dollars for that month’s Bill Bonus.
  4. Part-month charges: If you add a new eligible connection or cancel an existing eligible connection part way through your usual billing cycle, your Bill Bonus calculation will not include that part month of charges.
  5. You can earn a maximum of $50 Phone Dollars each month from your Bill Bonus.
