Spending and redeeming

What can I spend my Phone Dollars on?

Any new phone $199+ on a 24 or 36 month interest-free term, with an eligible One NZ Pay Monthly plan. You’ll need a minimum $99 deposit, which you could pay with the trade-in value of your old phone, and there’s a minimum $1 payment required over your term. Phone Dollars can’t be exchanged for cash.

How do I redeem my Phone Dollars?

Head into any One NZ store and chat to our team. Bring a valid driver's license or passport so we can confirm you're the authorised person on the account. You'll also need to complete a credit check to ensure an interest-free term is suitable for you.

Can I use my Phone Dollars balance online?

Not right now. You can use your Phone Dollars in any One NZ store. Find a store near you.

What plans can I use my Phone Dollars on?

You can use your Phone Dollars balance with any of our in-market Pay Monthly plans.

Can I buy a phone that's already on sale?

No, you can’t combine Phone Dollars with any other offer.

Can I use Phone Dollars on a $1/month phone deal?

No. Phone Dollars cannot be combined with promotional pricing offers.

How can I cover the deposit?

You can either pay the minimum $99 deposit in cash or use the trade-in value of your old phone.

Do I have a One Wallet?

If you’re 18+ and have a NZ mobile number, then yes – there’s a One Wallet and a stack of Phone Dollars waiting for you.

How do I check my One Wallet?

Simple! Just enter your mobile number at the What’s In My Wallet website or, if you’re a One NZ mobile customer, you can access One Wallet in the My One NZ app.

What happened to my One Wallet Dollars?

Nothing, they’ve just got a new name. One Wallet Dollars are now called Phone Dollars.

Is One Wallet the same as One NZ Rewards?

No. One NZ Rewards is different than One Wallet. It has rewards like discounted movie vouchers, event presales, and One NZ Warriors deals. These are available to One NZ customers at the One NZ Rewards website.

What's the value of a Phone Dollar?

Each Phone Dollar is equivalent to $1 (NZD). So your Phone Dollars balance is the amount you’ll save on your next new interest-free phone.

How can I grow my Phone Dollars balance?

Save the offers loaded into your One Wallet. Each offer will show you how many Phone Dollars you can earn.

How do I get more offers?

Keep an eye on your app or look out for a TXT or email from One NZ, with new offers. Our TXT short code is 7414.

What happens to my Phone Dollars if I cancel my plan?

Phone Dollars already earned stay until expiry. Ongoing offer eligibility (e.g. Bill Bonus) may be removed if you leave an eligible plan.

Do Phone Dollars expire?

Yes. Most are valid for four years but some expire sooner. All Phone Dollars end at 11.59pm on their date of expiry, which you can see in the offer card or your balance history in the What’s In My Wallet website or the My One NZ app.

Special cases and exceptions

Can I gift or transfer my Phone Dollars to a family member or someone else?

Yes. You can gift or transfer a portion (excludes trade-in estimate and device offer) of your Phone Dollars to someone on the same bill. Transferred balance must be redeemed within 30 days, otherwise it expires.

My phone number is managed by my employer, can I still use One Wallet?

You can still use One Wallet and earn Phone Dollars through our partners, such as dosh. Phone Dollars can only be redeemed if you are the account holder. If you want to redeem Phone Dollars earned via our partners, you can gift these Phone Dollars to a nominated mobile number or set up a new personal mobile account.

What are the terms and conditions?

The Phone Dollars in your One Wallet can be redeemed in-store with an eligible One NZ Pay Monthly plan. Your Phone Dollars balance can be used towards a new phone purchase with a minimum value of $199, on a 24 or 36 month interest-free term. Minimum $99 deposit required and minimum $1 monthly interest free repayment over term. Balance savings evenly spread over the agreed interest-free term. Balance of phone cost must be repaid if you exit, transfer or trade-down your plan before the interest-free term expires. Redeeming is available to the account holder of the service and is subject to a credit check. Eligibility criteria and terms apply.
