Who will be charged an Account Administration Fee?
Any Consumer customers who:
- Haven't been active for 6 months and
- Have a credit balance on their account
When will the Account Administration Fee be charged?
It will be charged monthly starting from 1st February 2018.
How much is the fee?
It will be an on-going monthly fee of $5 including GST (fee is changing to $2.40 from 1st January 2020).
Why is there a fee?
It is used to cover the costs of us holding onto credit balances for inactive accounts.
How will I be notified?
A message will be included on the first page of your bill the month before you're charged the Account Administration Fee.
How will I be billed?
It will appear on your bill and be deducted from your credit balance.
The fee will be charged on a monthly basis until you request:
- A refund into a bank account or credit card
- To transfer the balance to another active account with us
- To donate the balance to the One Aotearoa Foundation's bank account, or
If the account reaches a $0.00 balance, you will no longer be charged the Account Administration Fee.
