If your smartphone isn't detecting your home Wi-Fi network, ensure you check the following:
- Your modem power cable is plugged in to the power socket and is turned on
- The modem displays lights (means it's turned on)
- Your Wi-Fi network name is the same as shown on the wireless modem (unless you've changed it)
- If all the above is correct, try restarting your wireless modem and then restart your phone as well.
Check again to see if your phone displays your Wi-Fi network. If yes, great! You can now connect to your Wi-Fi.
We have simple step-by-step instructions on connecting to Wi-Fi
in our Device Guides for the most popular handsets.
Still no connection?
- Have you created a whitelist for your Wi-Fi specifying that only certain devices can connect? - check your modem guide for details
- Have you hidden the Wi-Fi network name from public view - check your modem guide for details
- Have you changed the Wi-Fi password?
- Is Wi-Fi turned on on your mobile?
