Use personalOperator to divert business mobile calls

This article covers how personalOperator gives anyone calling you an alternative to leaving a recorded voice message and it is a free service - you will pay any cost to forward calls to a nominated number.

How personalOperator works

  • You leave a personal greeting on your voicemail
  • Callers can then leave a message or press '0' to be transferred through to another number
    For example:
"Hello you've reached Sammy Sample, I'm not available to take your call however if you would like to speak to my assistant Sally please press 0 now. Alternatively you can leave a message after the tone."

personalOperator gives you a set of options for call management. For example, if an incoming call falls somewhere between must answer and should answer - you can divert it to voicemail, knowing that if it's urgent the caller will still be offered the option of calling your alternative contact.
You can designate any mobile or landline number as your personalOperator alternative contact number.

Before your set up personalOperator to divert your calls to another number, have a quick think about

  • Which number or person will take your calls?
  • Do you want them to be taking overload calls 24/7, or during specific hours?
  • What should your message say, to make sure callers only choose the personalOperator option for appropriate calls?
  • And, of course, make sure the person knows they might be getting your diverted calls!
