This article explains how you can give your MSISDN to someone else.
How does it work?
If you want to give your mobile number to someone else then you'll need to complete the Change of Ownership form .
If you are not authorised on the account, then you will need to do one of the following to proceed with the transfer:
- Provide identification along with a letter of authority from the account holder
or - Get the form filled by the authorised person
How much does a number transfer cost?
It's free to request these changes.
The only charges you may need to pay will be any early termination charges if you're deactivating your connection under a mobile number transfer, and your contract term hasn't expired.
Remember, you'll also have to pay your final account in full. Just call us and we'll let you know what the final number will be.
What happens to any Direct Debits and automatic payments setup for that number?
Any Direct Debit payment arrangements (from your bank account or your credit card) you have in place will cease once the account balance is fully paid
How long does a number transfer normally take?
It usually takes two working days for name change and number transfer requests, and five working days for all other requests, as long as the information received is complete and correct. It may take longer if we need to contact you for any additional information, or to clarify your request.
We'll TXT or email you when weave actioned your request. In the case of name changes and company consolidation requests, the next bill should show the new account name as confirmation.
What happens to any left over minutes or TXTs on the number that you are transferring?
These do not carry over, the new owner is effectively starting their own account from the beginning with us, but taking over your number which you've relinquished. They will get their own fresh allocation of TXT and minutes
Can I keep my saved numbers in my phone?
Simply copy your phone book entries from your current SIM card to your mobile, and then download them to your new SIM card. Check out your mobile phone user guide for more info, or visit one of our retail stores and you can have them copied onto the new SIM card.
