This depends on your phone, most will allow you to store several hundred TXTs but if you need to know check out your mobile's device guide .

If someone sends you a TXT while your phone is off, the network will normally store it for up to 3 days while trying to deliver it to you. If we haven't been able to get it to you in that time it will be deleted.
