This article explains what happens if you've been waiting for a call or some TXTs and nothing seems to have come for a while or if you send a TXT to someone and you suddenly get a load of waiting TXTs maybe even including a voicemail notification.

What could cause missed calls or delayed TXTs?

Your phone keeps itself logged onto the network by sending updates (known as polling) approx every 30-40 seconds. If, for any reason, your phone stops doing this correctly you will still see a signal, but the network will not see you, and will treat you as being unavailable or turned off.

Any calls that come in will go to Voicemail, and TXT will be queued up waiting for you to turn back on. When you next do something, like send a TXT the network will see you pop back up and know exactly where to send all the stuff waiting for you - hence a flood of messages.

How to determine if it a Phone or network issue that is causing missed calls or delayed TXTs?

The big question would be - Is it affecting others around you?

First try a phone reset - remove the battery for a few seconds - or fully turn your phone off if you can't remove the battery, (you can leave the SIM in) then put it back to get her and turn it back on. Many minor phone gremlins will sort themselves out with this step.

If you keep having this problem then his is likely to be a phone fault. If its only affecting you and is happening in more than one location then deal with this as a phone defect and talk to us about it at one of our retail store. There is no setting on your phone that you might have altered so if your phone has cases where it 'sleeps' like this, the issue will likely be a hardware fault.

If others with you seem to be having the same problem at the same location, we may need to investigate the serving cell site for that area. Call Customer Service on 777 with the date and time, as well as the numbers of the other affected users along with some examples of affected calls and TXT's. They will raise a fault ticket so the Technical Support team can investigate this for you.
