Voicemail on VoIP Phone Lines

Setup

Set up voicemail

  1. Dial *61
  2. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  3. Follow the voice prompts to set up your mailbox

From another phone:

  1. Dial 0800 MYPHONE (0800 697 4663) to access the main menu
  2. Enter your area code without the 0 and your phone number, e.g. 9 123 4567 then press #
  3. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  4. Follow the voice prompts to set up your mailbox

Set up your own PIN

Set up your own PIN at any time. It must be four digits and cannot be the last four digits of your phone number.

  1. Dial *62
  2. Enter your current four-digit PIN then press #
  3. Press 8 to change the PIN
  4. Enter a new PIN followed by #
  5. Re-enter the new PIN and press #

Record your voicemail greeting

This is the greeting callers will hear when you cannot answer the phone. Choose our standard greeting or record your own. Change this greeting as often as you like from the main menu.

  1. Dial *61
  2. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  3. Press 2 for Busy Greeting menu, or
  4. Press 3 for No Answer Greeting menu
  5. Follow the voice prompts to record your voicemail greeting.

Record a mailbox name

This is the name you will hear when you access your mailbox.

  1. Dial *62
  2. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  3. Press 1 to access the voicemail box
  4. Press 3 to record a name
  5. Press 1 to record a name in the Name Greeting menu, or
  6. Press 2 to play the current recording, or
  7. Press 3 to delete the name

Change number of voicemail rings

Change the number of rings before voicemail activates.

  1. Dial *610 and follow the voice prompts
  2. When prompted, set the number of rings before the phone diverts to voicemail

Use

Listen to voicemail messages

If there is a new message in the mailbox, you will hear an interrupted dial tone (a series of fast beeps) when you pick up the phone.

  1. Dial *61
  2. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  3. Press 1 to listen to messages

From another phone number within NZ:

  1. Dial 0800 697 466 to access the main menu
  2. Enter your area code without the 0, followed by your phone number e.g. 4 123 4567 then press #
  3. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  4. Press 1 for the Voice Messaging menu
  5. Press 1 to listen to messages

From overseas: International call charges apply.

  1. Dial 00 64 9 962 0000 
  2. Enter your area code without the 0, followed by your phone number e.g. 4 123 4567 then press #
  3. Enter your four-digit PIN then press #
  4. Press 1 to listen to messages
