This article explains how to set up notifications for your Voicemail on an HFC connection
Before you begin
Your voicemail can call you whenever a message has been left on your home phone. You can be notified of all messages or only those marked as urgent . You can specify the time during which you want notifications and can select different times for during the week and weekend. You can also change the number called with notifications, the schedule, or turn this feature on and off.
By default, your own phone number will be stored as the notification number - you need to change this to the number you wish to be called on (see set up below). You'll need to pay any applicable charges for notification calls.
Steps
Setup notifications
- From the Main Menu press 333
- Press 1 to turn message waiting notification on or off
- Press 2 to set up a notification schedule (including the notification number)
Receive Out-Call Notifications
- When you receive a notification call, press 1 to take the call
- Enter your voicemail password followed by the # key to listen to your messages.
- If you are not at the number you've specified when the notification call is made, the person answering the call can press 2 at the prompt for voicemail to call you again later.
