Ultra Hub | Set up port forwarding

This page explains how you can set up port forwarding on an Ultra Hub modem.

Before you begin

Port forwarding is a way to make a computer or server on your private network accessible to computers on the Internet, regardless if you are behind a router or Firewall. It is commonly used for hosting:

  • Game servers
  • Peer-to-peer downloading
  • Static VPN routes
  • Voice over IP type applications.

The our technical support team are unable to assist you with port forwarding queries. We are providing this information as a guide only, and staff are unable to provide further troubleshooting information.

After a port forward is added, you may need to also allow the connection in your firewall if the application using the port forward is running on your computer.
    • In some instances your computer may prompt to allow the port forward, otherwise go into the firewall settings to allow the application.
    • Other devices such as IP Cameras, Game Consoles and NAS machines often accept these automatically and the modem change is sufficient.
