With our home phone and calling you just need to pick up the phone and dial directly. Only some customers with traditional fixed line calling will be able to use 059 or 0161. If you dial 059 (or 0161) from your traditional fixed landline before making a call, these calls won't be included as part of your talk plan and you'll be charged Spark's retail rates on your fixed line and broadband bill.
You won't be able to use 059 or 0161 if you have calling over broadband.
National calls
To make a national call, you need the area code and the local number. You can find New Zealand area codes below.
Dial the area code, then the local number. For example, the area code for Auckland is 09 so to call Auckland number 765 4321 you would dial 09 765 4321.
International calls
To make an international call you need the country code, as well as the area code and local number.
Dial the Country Code, then the Area code, followed by the local number. For example, the country code for the United Kingdom is 0044 and the area code for Manchester is 161. So, to call the Manchester number 2468 1012, you would dial 0044 161 2468 1012.
If you have your toll calling with another provider:
To make a call through the our network, you first need to dial an access code. For ordinary calls this access code is 050. For Ztalk calls, the code is 0505.
Once you have dialled the access code, dial the number you wish to call as above.
