This article explains the fibre broadband install process for properties on a shared driveway.
To ensure the minimum of disruption, the best way is to get consent from all those who have an interest in the right of way. Complete a consent form
first.
Once that's received, the build can begin.
- Once consents have been received the local provider will send letters to all those concerned to let you know when it will take place.
- Once the fibre has been laid in the shared driveway, the process for installation into each home can begin.
- You will need to meet with the provider to discuss and agree the install for your home. If your property is rented your landlord will need to agree and sign also.
- Once all of the paperwork is done, the build begins. You don't need to be there for the build, but have your phone handy in case plans need to change.
- Lastly comes the connection in your home. You'll need to be home for this step and it could take up to 4 hours from cabling to testing and go live.
