The unlock code we sent you is an alpha numeric code. Please follow the steps below carefully. They are different for each phone.
- You will not need Wi-Fi to complete the unlock.
Unlock instructions for the Huawei Ascend G510
- Switch handset off.
- Insert a non-One NZ SIM.
- Power up phone.
- Enter your SIM or PIN lock code (if they have been set on the phone). Note: This is not the same as the unlock code.
- Phone will display "SIM network unlock PIN" prompt message and ask for an unlock pin. Note: If you choose to touch "Emergency call" or "Dismiss" options, then you will able to use the handset without a registering to any networks. You might need to restart your device to bring back the prompt screen in order to unlock your device.
- Enter the unlock pin received from One NZ.
- Phone should now be unlocked.
If the "SIM network unlock PIN" is entered incorrectly more than 10 times, the phone will display another "unlock SIM BLOCK" prompt screen and ask for an unblock pin.
Please contact One NZ on 777 again to receive this unblock pin. After the unblock pin is entered correctly the phone will still be locked but now the "SIM network unlock PIN" prompt screen is brought back.
Please note: We cannot guarantee that an unlocked phone will be compatible with another network.
This is because different networks may use different technologies and frequencies. Please check compatibility requirements with the destination network provider.
Important: Do not try to guess, or make up, your unlock code.
If our instructions are not followed carefully and you enter an incorrect code multiple times, you may lock your phone completely. If, after three attempts, your phone does not unlock please call us on 0800 837 867 (Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm). We can only help with unlocking One New Zealand mobile devices purchased from an authorised One NZ retailer that hasn't been tampered with, is not 'jail broken' or flashed.
