Do I have to use the cables etc supplied in the box?

We recommend that you use the components in the box.
They have all passed strict quality control and help ensure best performance compared to older or possibly damaged cables.

Connecting a printer to your modem using USB or WPS.

While the modem has a USB point available, this is not an option for USB printers or other media sticks. printers can be connected. 

Connect a USB hard drive to your DN8245.

While the modem has a USB point available, this is not an option for external drives or media sticks.

Can I turn off my DN8245 when I'm not using it?

If you use a landline, the DN8245 must always be switched on and connected to the telephone jack so you can make or receive calls.
It's safe to leave it on even if you only use the internet, and it uses little power.

If you've have a landline phone.

If your phone is connected through your DN8245 modem and there is a power blackout, or your modem is disconnected from the internet, you will not be able to make or receive phone calls, including calls to emergency or other services.

Is bridging, Telnet or SSH supported out of the box?

Bridge Mode is supported on the DN8245, however Telnet and SSH are not.

Updating Modem firmware.

Most firmware updates are carried out automatically by us, so you don't need to do anything.

Can't browse the internet and / or use the phone?

If you have previously been able to browse the internet and / or talk on the phone before, check that your DN8245 modem cables are connected properly.
Restart your modem and connected device (e.g. your computer or tablet) by turning them off and on again. Connection issues are often resolved in this way.

If WiFi signal is not visible.

Update the WiFi drivers on your device -(laptop or desktop computer.

Or disable WiFi 6 on the modem (you can select WiFi AC only rather than AC/AX)

Unable to sign into the DN8245 with the default username and password?

In some rare cases, you may not be able to log into your DN8245 using the default username and password (appears on the sticker on the bottom of your modem).
To fix this issue, you should try and manually factory reset your modem by using the Reset PIN - hold on the back of the modem. 
If you've previously changed your modem's username and password, you should be using the credentials you created to log in.
