Roaming | Run out of minutes, TXTs or data while roaming

This article explains what happens if you run out of entitlements based on what plan you are on while roaming.

What happens if you are one a Small, Medium, Large or Extra large plan?

  • You have unlimited minutes and TXTS (to NZ and Australia) so you can roam worry free if making calls back to NZ and Australia with Daily Roaming country.
  • If you're travelling to a non-Daily Roaming country, you'll pay a fixed amount per minute and per TXT in each zone.
  • If you run out of maximum speed data you will be able to purchase additional maximum speed data add-ons or you can continue to use data at a restricted speed of 1.2 mbps until the end of your current billing cycle.  We will also send you data usage notifications along the way.

What happens if you are on a Red+ or Black mobile plan?

  • You have unlimited minutes and TXTs (to NZ and Australia) so you can roam worry free if making calls back to NZ and Australia or within the Daily Roaming country .
  • If you're travelling to a non-Daily Roaming country , you'll pay a fixed amount per minute and per TXT in each zone.
  • If you run out of data you'll be redirected with Flexi Data and we will also send you data usage notifications along the way.

What happens if you are If you're on an On Account plan or Business Basics plan?

  • In the Daily Roaming countries, you'll be charged the usual out of bundle home rates when you go over your voice minutes. We'll notify you of your charges prior to charging you.
  • If you're travelling to a non-Daily Roaming country , you'll pay a fixed amount per minute and per TXT in each zone. 
  • If you run out of data you'll be redirected with Flexi Data and we will also send you data usage notifications along the way.
