Three-Way Calling | User guides for ADSL/VDSL legacy copper phone lines

This article explains how to manage Three-Way Calling on copper phone lines for ADSL/VDSL connections.

This home phone calling feature enables people in three different locations in NZ or across the world to join in on the same phone call.

Before you begin

There is a monthly fee for Three Way Calling .

Below describes how it works:

  • With the press of a button, people in three different locations can share one phone call
  • You, as the primary party, dial in the other two parties. When you hang up, the call ends for all three parties
  • You will be charged the cost of calling the two other parties (at local, national, home to mobile or international rates)
  • Three Way Calling is available in most areas

Steps

Connect a three way call

  1. If you're not already on a call to the second party, dial the second location and wait for them to answer
  2. Press the recall or flash button on the phone - you will hear the engaged tone and then the normal dial tone
  3. Dial the third location - when they answer you may talk privately before you press the recall or flash button to connect all three locations
  4. If the third location does not reply or is engaged, press the recall or flash button twice to go back to the original call

Disconnect a three way call

  1. Simply hang up or ask one of the locations to hang up if their part of the call is finished
  2. To disconnect the third location while keeping the original call going, press the recall or flash button briefly
