This page explains how to set up a SmartWiFi X53 for Business Fibre.

Before you begin

• These work instructions are also compatible with our Deco X53-DSL modem.
• SmartWiFi modems are plug and play - you do not need to manually set up the modem in the Deco app

Wi-Fi details

The WiFi network name and password are displayed on the bottom of the modem.

Indicator light descriptions

Light colour	Description
Green	Internet is online
Red	No internet connection detected
Blue (flashing)	The modem is in setup mode Use the Deco app to set up the modem (required for ADSL) OR Wait 2-3 minutes for it to automatically set up
Blue (solid)	Phone is in use OR Setup is being completed by the Deco app
Yellow	The modem is starting up

Steps

1. Plug the power adaptor into the back of your X53 to begin setup.
2. Plug the Ethernet cable into one of the modem's yellow Ethernet ports, and the other side into the provisioned LAN port on the ONT.
3. If required, plug the phone cable into the green Phone port of the modem
4. Wait for the LED to turn solid green
   Note: This can take up to 3 minutes
