One Business with Webex | Call Transfer

This article contains information on the Call Transfer feature available with One Business with Webex and how to activate and then use the feature.

Before you begin

Please first ensure that you have downloaded the Webex App, which can be done here: https://www.webex.com/downloads.html

Steps

Based on product you are using, please click on the option from the list below:

Soft Phone


  1. While on an active call, select the '...' icon

  2. Under Calling options, select Transfer

  3. Enter the number you would like to transfer the call to
    • Note: You can also choose a number from the list by searching for the contact

  4. Once you select the contact, click Transfer for cold transfer or Consult first for warm transfer

    • Note: If you choose the option Consult first, please select the Transfer option on the following screen to complete the call transfer:

Mobile Profile


    1. While on an active call on your phone's calling app, open the Webex app
    2. Navigate to Messages

      • Note: The active call will be highlighted with timer on it:

    3. Tap on the active call for options
    4. Tap on the Transfer button

    5. In the search bar, enter the name or number you would like to transfer the call to

    6. Once you have found the details, tap on the call icon

    7. On the following screen, tap Transfer for cold transfer or Consult first for warm transfer

      • Note: This is the last step for cold transfers. For warm transfers, please follow the steps below:
    8. Once you tap Consult first, you will be redirected to your phone's calling app

      • Note: The Webex app is minimised on your phone screen. Please do not close it.

    9. Tap the Call icon

    10. Tap the merge button

    11. Maximise the webex app on the side for the Transfer option
    12. To transfer the call after consult, tap the Transfer button

    1. While on an active call on your phone's calling app, open the Webex app
    2. Navigate to Messages

      • Note: The active call will be highlighted with timer on it:

    3. Tap on the active call for options
    4. Tap on the Transfer button

    5. In the search bar, enter the name or number you would like to transfer the call to

    6. Once you have found the contact, click on it
    7. On the following screen, tap Transfer for cold transfer or Consult first for warm transfer

      • Note: This is the last step for cold transfers. For warm transfers, please follow the steps below:
    8. Once you click on the Consult first option, click on the number that pops up at the bottom of your screen

      • Note: Once you click the number, you will be redirected to your Phone's Calling App
    9. Tap the merge button

    10. To transfer the call after consult, tap the Transfer button on your Webex app

Personal Computer (for Softphone & Premium Profiles)


  1. While on an active call, select the '...' icon and select Transfer

  2. Enter the number you would like to transfer the call to

    • Once you select the contact, click Transfer for cold transfer or Consult first for warm transfer
    • Cold Transfer is a green icon with an arrow and Consult First is a person icon
    • When the Cold Transfer icon is pressed, the process will be completed

    • Note: If you choose the option Consult first, please select the Complete Transfer option on the following screen to complete the call transfer:

    • Once the call is transferred, you will get a notification that the call was transferred:
