This page explains how to factory reset the HG659 modem.

You should know

• This removes all custom settings you may have made (for example, Wi-Fi network name and password)

Manual

You can perform a factory reset with the reset button on the router itself.

• The reset button is located on the back of the router
• Use a sharp tool to press the button (e.g. a paperclip or a pen)
• Press and hold the button for 20 seconds, the modem will restart and reset to the factory settings.

Reset via the web management page

1. Log into the web management page, using your web browser, http://192.168.1.1
2. In the navigation tree, choose Maintain
3. Select Device Management
4. In Factory Restore, click Reset.
5. In the displayed dialog box, click OK
