It's a good idea to back up your HG659 modem configuration before making any changes (for example, upgrading your modem's firmware).

Please note: You need to login as Admin as below.

1. Browse to your modem's admin page and log in
2. Click the Maintain tab 
3. Click Device Management
4. Expand the Back Up or Restore Settings section
5. Select Back Up

The configuration file can then be downloaded to anywhere on your computer for safe keeping.
