The DN8245 Parental controls are managed by way of Templates (the rules you want to enforce, including time of day access as well as website blocking etc) and then applying selected templates against a device.

The first step is to define a template.

  1. Click the Template tab and press NEW
  2. You will be stepped through the template creation.

    • Set what time and dates to you want the rules to apply from and to. Leave it blank if you want to have the rule available to use at any time
    • Set the "Allowed surfing period". This determines when the internet is able to be accessed. You can choose it by whole days of the week, or only over specific times per day for any chosen days. Note, when setting this, it is for specifying times that the internet can be used, rather than not be used
