This page explains how to set up a Deco Wireless Broadband modem using the Deco App.
You should know
- Ensure you have downloaded and installed the TP-Link Deco App.
- A TP-Link ID is required to perform this task
Find out how to create a TP-Link ID using the Deco app - Ensure you have updated their Deco App
Existing SuperWifi customers
If you already have SuperWifi, you will need to factory reset and remove the Deco X50 (existing modem X20) devices before setting up your new modem.
Steps
What light appears on your Deco unit?
Flashing Blue Light - Manual set up
- Log into the Deco App
The Paint Your Home In Wi-Fi screen appears - Tap LET'S BEGIN
- In the search field, enter the type of modem you have:
- X58-4G
- X80-5G
- Tap your modem when it appears
The How do you want to use your product screen appears - Select one of the following based on your modem
- X58-4G
Tap Use as a 3G/4G Router - X80-5G
Tap use as a 4G/5G Router
- X58-4G
- Confirm you have everything that you need to complete the setup, then tap the arrow icon
- Insert the SIM card into the Wireless Broadband modem
- Place the modem in the area of your house with the best signal
- The Deco app will provide suggestions on how to best position it - Tap the arrow icon to scroll through the suggestions
- Turn on the Deco modem and wait until the LED pulses blue
- Tap the arrow icon
The Looking for device screen appears, followed by a Connect to pop-up - Tap the Deco modem that you just added
- Select where your modem has been placed
- Tap Connect
- Enter a Wi-Fi network name and password
- Tap Next
- Tap Connect
- Tap Done
Green Light - Plug and play
- Log in to the Deco App
Screen appears saying you are connected to the modem - Click Bind
Binding completes allowing customer to use the app.
