Deco App | Set up a Wireless Broadband modem

This page explains how to set up a Deco Wireless Broadband modem using the Deco App.

You should know

Existing SuperWifi customers

If you already have SuperWifi, you will need to factory reset and remove the Deco X50 (existing modem X20) devices before setting up your new modem.

Steps

What light appears on your Deco unit?

Flashing Blue Light - Manual set up

  1. Log into the Deco App

  2. Tap LET'S BEGIN

  3. In the search field, enter the type of modem you have:
    • X58-4G
    • X80-5G

  4. Tap your modem when it appears

  5. Select one of the following based on your modem

    • X58-4G
      Tap Use as a 3G/4G Router
    • X80-5G
      Tap use as a 4G/5G Router

  6. Confirm you have everything that you need to complete the setup, then tap the arrow icon

  7. Insert the SIM card into the Wireless Broadband modem

  8. Place the modem in the area of your house with the best signal
    • The Deco app will provide suggestions on how to best position it - Tap the arrow icon to scroll through the suggestions
  9. Turn on the Deco modem and wait until the LED pulses blue
  10. Tap the arrow icon

    The Looking for device screen appears, followed by a Connect to pop-up
  11. Tap the Deco modem that you just added

  12. Select where your modem has been placed

  13. Tap Connect

    The Deco will search for internet access
  14. Enter a Wi-Fi network name and password

  15. Tap Next

Green Light - Plug and play


  1. Log in to the Deco App
    Screen appears saying you are connected to the modem

  2. Click Bind
    Binding completes allowing customer to use the app.

What it means

How to resolve the issue

Prompted to 'Set Up Your SIM Card' The SIM card has not been provisioned properly and there is no internet service.

Take the Wireless Broadband modem (including its SIM card) into one of our retail stores.
  • One of our retail store agents will test it in another modem and provision a new SIM card if required

Other issues

General issues you may encounter during the set up process.

If you encounter any issues during the set up, there are 3 things they can try:

  • Power off all devices, and try the process again

    Powering up devices in the incorrect order will impact setup

  • Delete the unit from the Deco app

    Completely delete the unit from the deco app , power off all Deco units and start the process again

  • Factory reset the Deco unit

    This should only be done as a last resort
