This article explains how to change your modem's operation mode using the Deco app.
You Should Know
The table below describes the types of operation modes.
You can change the operation mode if you need to use your Deco Device in a different way or on a different type of Broadband connection (i.e. Wireless Broadband changing to Fixed Broadband)
| Operation Mode | When to Use |
| WiFi Router | If you are using your Deco Device for a Fixed Broadband connection. |
| Access Point | When you are using your Deco Device for Wifi only and you are using a different modem to connect to the internet. Note, advanced Deco features will be unavailable when using this mode. |
| 3G/4G Router (Deco X58 only) | If you are using your Deco Device for a Wireless Broadband connection. |
| 4G/5G Router (Deco X80 only) |
Steps
- Log into the Deco app.
- At the bottom of your screen, tap more.
- Tap Advanced.
- Tap Operation Mode.
- Select the required Operation Mode.
- If you are changing your Deco device from a Wireless Broadband device to be used as a modem on a Fixed Broadband connection, select WiFi Router as the Operation Mode.
- Tap Apply.
- If you are changing the Operation Mode of your Deco device for any other reason, the process ends here.
- If you are changing your Deco device to be used on a Fixed connection, continue to step 7.
- Tap the back arrow.
- Tap IPTV/VLAN.
- Toggle on the IPTV/VLAN switch.
- In the ISP Profile section, select New Zealand UFB.
- Tap Save.
