This article explains how to manage Call Control on ADSL/VDSL copper phone lines.
Before you begin
Call Control helps you manage chargeable calls (calls made outside your calling area, 0900 services and mobile phone calls) made from your phone.
There is a monthly fee for Call Control .
When Call Control is activated, no chargeable calls can be made from your phone.
Call Control does not prevent incoming collect or transfer charge calls
You will still be able to make calls to 111 emergency services.
Steps
Turn Call Control On
From your phone:
- Dial 1880 followed by the four digit PIN
- Wait for the confirmation tone (long-short-long)
- Hang up
When you have Call Control on, once you have dialled a toll number you will be prompted to enter your PIN before the call will start
Turn Call Control off
From your phone:
- Dial 1881 followed by the four digit PIN
- Wait for the confirmation tone (long-short-long)
- Hang up
- Lift the handset and dial the chargeable number
- Turn Toll Call Control on again when you have finished your chargeable call
When you have Call Control off, you can make a chargeable call
